Five girls said to have been largely responsible for the unfavourable state of affairs at Dr Guthrie's approved school for girls, Gilmerton, Edinburgh, appeared in Edinburgh sheriff court on Saturday charged with escaping from the school

Dr Guthrie's girls approved school, Edinburgh. In the bright sunshine, they walked out of school and escaped unnoticed. Police have issued an alarm, and all the beat and mobile patrols are out on the lookout for the girls, both of whom are quite young. In November of last year, a disturbance broke out in the school

The abuse my daughter suffered at Dr Guthrie's Girls School was shocking and this was in 1983 (not so long ago). From the day she walked into that place her education stopped! She was emotionally and physically abused! She started wetting the bed because of the abuse and the wet sheets were rubbed in her face! This place should be held accountable for the shocking abuse these girls endured! My daughter was not a bad person. She never committed a crime! Her crime was being a victim of sexual abuse!
The Dr Guthrie's Association refused to sign up to the Scottish Redress Scheme. This organisation has lived off the hundreds of boys and girls who have been abused and whose human rights have been violated - the most vulnerable children in society! Scotland, hang your head in shame until this organisation, its hooligans and its criminals are brought to justice!
